Privacy policy

Noko Studio Ltd (“Noko Studio”, “I”, “me”) is a design studio based in Wānaka, New Zealand. I respect your privacy and handle personal information in line with the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020.

What I collect

I only collect what you choose to give me:

• Enquiries. When you use the contact form, I collect your name, email address, and anything else you enter: your phone number, business name, the services you’re interested in, your budget and timing, and your message.
• Emails and calls. If you email or phone me, I keep that correspondence.
• Client projects. If we work together, I also hold the contact, billing and project details needed to deliver the work and invoice for it.

This website doesn’t use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies, and it doesn’t build a profile of your visit. Like all websites, the hosting provider automatically records basic technical information (such as IP address and browser type) in server logs for security and to keep the site running.

How I use it

I use your information to reply to your enquiry, prepare proposals, deliver and invoice project work, and keep business records as required by law (for example, for tax). I won’t add you to a mailing list or send marketing without your permission, and I never sell or rent your information.

Who else handles it

I use a small number of trusted service providers to run the studio. They store information on my behalf and may do so outside New Zealand:

• Netlify hosts this website and receives contact-form submissions.
• Google provides my email and file storage.
• My accounting software holds invoicing details for clients.

I only share your information with anyone else if you ask me to, if it’s needed to deliver your project (for example, a printer or photographer, with your agreement), or if the law requires it.

How long I keep it

I keep enquiries for as long as they’re useful for following up, and client records for as long as needed for the project and for legal and tax purposes (generally seven years in New Zealand). You can ask me to delete an enquiry at any time.

Keeping it safe

I take reasonable steps to protect your information, including secure (HTTPS) connections to this site and using only reputable, established service providers.

Your rights

You can ask to see the personal information I hold about you and ask me to correct it. Email hello@nokostudio.com and I’ll respond within 20 working days, usually much sooner. If you’re not happy with how I’ve handled your information, please tell me first. You can also contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner.
