The brief
Wanaka Chocolate makes small-batch bars and confections in Wānaka, and is a favourite with locals and visitors alike. The brand needed a refresh that would stand out on a crowded shelf and give each flavour in a growing range its own personality.
What I did
I refreshed the brand and created a series of illustrations, one for each flavour, drawn from the activities and scenery Wānaka is famous for. Each bar tells a small story about the place it’s made, which makes the range as appealing as a souvenir as it is as a treat. The new look carried through to the packaging and website.
Where it landed
The new packaging raised the brand’s profile and helped drive an increase in sales.
