The brief
I’d already worked with Chris Norman on the brand for his solo practice. When he teamed up with Beth Chaney-Walker to form a new partnership, he came back to brand the new practice. Chaney & Norman design high-performance, energy-efficient homes, each one shaped by its site. They needed an identity that felt as considered as their buildings, without being stiff or corporate.
What I did
The brandmark is built from a single repeated form, rendered in a range of textures. It points to the early, exploratory part of architecture: testing forms and volumes and seeing how they relate. That texture system carries through the website, signage and the studio interior. It’s deliberately open-ended, a kit of parts the practice can keep playing with rather than a logo locked in a box.
